Weller LS25 cleaning stone
LS25 – High density ammonium chloride briquette for soldering tip cleaning.
It prolongs the life of soldering tips by removing oxidation.

General information: Deoxidizer. Ammonium chloride is a white salt which sublimes without melting above 120-335°C. Above this temperature, it decomposes into NH3 and HCl.
As its aqueous solution, solid ammonium chloride acts as a weak acid, therefore it can be used to dissolve metal oxides on metallic surfaces like copper, brass, nickel, iron and tin. Predominantly used for soldering tips cleaning, ammonium chloride is also utilized as a flux for soldering, etching and tinning of metal surfaces.
Application: Repeatedly rub the hot tip on the block. In case you do’nt need to continue with the soldering, coat the clean tip with the alloy.
